Here and below are a series of photos of The Gates, taken in February of this year.
All of the shots were taken near Columbus Circle, at the south-western end of Central Park, on a cold, cold day and night. I was in town for a conference, but there were serious photogs all over the place. I even saw a couple of guys mimic my perspective, basically taking the same shots that I did, after I took them. Strange.
I just used my nice little camera, and tried to make sense of this work of art, in the midst of another work of art. I saw relatively little of the actual installation, unfortunately. I'm sure that better shots were to be had deeper within the park, but alas, I had little time in the big city.
