The new pope is catholic. I know this might seem obvious, but I just thought I'd throw it out there. He's probably not going to ordain women, marry homosexuals, or support abortion, euthanasia, or contraception. Because he's catholic. It's in the contract.

I mention this because it seems profoundly odd to me that people following the death of John Paul II and the election of a new pope expect sea-change from an institution not known for sea-changes.
